The Optimist Club of Imperial Beach is sponsoring: a fund-raising VIRTUAL Spaghetti (or Any) Dinner.

The Imperial Beach Optimist Club is sponsoring a “virtual” Spaghetti Dinner anytime from now until December 1. The cost is $10.00 per person or two people for $15.00. Order forms to participate in this fundraiser for the Optimist Youth Fund are described below.

Money earned will support the VIP Village, Mar Vista High scholarships, speech and essay contests, South Bay music students, IB Junior Lifeguards, IB Library,  as well as Junior Optimist clubs and the annual Kids ‘n Kastles competition. Since there will be no “overhead costs,” 100% of the money raised will support these programs.

When you sign up as a “virtual dinner guest,” you are automatically entered in a door prize drawing. These gifts include gift cards, bath products, wine, candy, candles, etc. The two grand prizes will be a two-night stay at the  San Diego Country Estates resort in Ramona and a collection of Sun and Sea festival posters. For every $10.00 donated, a person will receive one virtual door prize ticket.

To participate, donors may send checks to Optimist club Treasurer, Jean Ordonez, 156 Elm Avenue, IB 91932 or contact any Optimist member. All transactions and door prize awards will be made by members with social distancing and face coverings.

Guests are invited to enjoy their “virtual meal” at a place of their choosing: at home, at the beach, in a park, or even your own backyard. The Optimists hope to receive photos of the meals to post on Facebook.

For further information, please contact:  Virginia Syverson (619-341-2656 or vsyverson@cox.net) or President Joe Stancer (619-368-9501 or joestancer@gmail.com.) Please join us in supporting local youth activities with our “virtual” dinner fundraiser.
