Imperial Beach Legend, Benny Holt, was honored at the May 20th IB City Council Meeting. The event drew a huge crowd and some people had to watch in a second room where the meeting was being broadcast to. See pictures of Benny receiving awards from multiple dignitaries and friends.

Benny Holt will be honored by both the City of Imperial Beach for his 47 years of service to the city as a lifeguard and by the Sweetwater High School District or his 40 plus years as Cross Country Track Coach and his teaching with them at tonight's City Council Meeting.
The IB Boys and Girls Club will become the temporary home of the library when the old library begins being demolished in October. Ironically, October will mark the 100 year anniversary of the Imperial Beach Library.
The Imperial Beach Boys and Girls Club will be offering youth Tae Kwon Do Classes starting May 25th at the IB Sports Park.
Supervisor Greg Cox donated his blood to help with the kick off of the county wide Blood Drive. The Blood Drive included a marrow registry or those who wish to become bone marrow contributors!
Zumba classes will be offered by the Imperial Beach Boys and Girls Club on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.Day and Night classes available.
Twenty years ago with big fanfare the existing park was renamed Veterans Park on Memorial Day May 29th, 1995. Before that it was known as Marina Vista Park.
Children from the Imperial Beach community showed up in numbers to enjoy the free "Chalk Art Workshop" to celebrate Earth Month during the Free ECO Event put on with the help of the Imperial Beach Optimists Club and the IB Boys and Girls Club on April 25th & 26th.
Minnie is this week "Featured Pet" of "Open Arms Rescue" based here in Imperial Beach. Minnie is in need of a new home!
