The History of Imperial Beach will be the topic at Imperial Beach Chamber of Commerce Networking Breakfast on Thursday May 28th at the Dempsey Holder Safety Center. The breakfast starts at 7:30am.
State Assembly Speaker Toni G Atkins, IB’s Representative in the State, will be at the Imperial Beach Library Thursday May 28th. She is usually there the last Thursday of every month to hear our community problems and help us with our needs in the State.
Bailey is this week "Featured Pet" of "Open Arms Rescue" based here in Imperial Beach. "Bailey” is in need of a new home!
This year, Assembly Speaker Toni G. Atkins is hosting a sock drive so that our homeless veterans and their families will have an amply supply of socks. Please bring a new pair of socks to your next community meeting on May 28 from 5-6 pm at the Imperial Beach Library.

Imperial Beach Legend, Benny Holt, was honored at the May 20th IB City Council Meeting. The event drew a huge crowd and some people had to watch in a second room where the meeting was being broadcast to. See pictures of Benny receiving awards from multiple dignitaries and friends.

Benny Holt will be honored by both the City of Imperial Beach for his 47 years of service to the city as a lifeguard and by the Sweetwater High School District or his 40 plus years as Cross Country Track Coach and his teaching with them at tonight's City Council Meeting.
The IB Boys and Girls Club will become the temporary home of the library when the old library begins being demolished in October. Ironically, October will mark the 100 year anniversary of the Imperial Beach Library.
The Imperial Beach Boys and Girls Club will be offering youth Tae Kwon Do Classes starting May 25th at the IB Sports Park.
