Mar Vista High School Boys Basketball Team loses to High Tech High in a Close Game

MarVista High School Boys Basketball Team loses to the Storm of High Tech High in a Close, Hard Faught Game

The MV Boys basketball team fell to High Tech High in a close, hard fought game that saw the Mariners lead much of the first half Monday night. The Mariners lead after the 1st Quarter 16-15 and by halftime, they led 29 - 26. However, the Mariners were outscored 21 to 15 in the third quarter and the Storm took the lead by 3 points. In the 4th quarter, the Mariners traded baskets with the Storm much of the quarter and couldn't take the lead and fell to High Tech Hign 58 - 55. 

Leading the team in scoring was freshman Josiah Scott with 15 points. Scott also had 3 rebounds and 2 assists. Senior Gabe Schiazza had 14 points and led the team with 7 rebounds. Freshman Jeffrey Temcho scored 10 points while leading the team in assists with 3 while pulling in 4 rebounds. 

The Mariners are now 7 - 5 for the season and 1 -1 in league play.

The next Mariners Boys Basketball game is on Wednesday, January 8th versus the San Ysidro Cougars at MarVista High School at 6p.m.
