 A Look Into Imperial Beach Music Scene for November.

November has arrived, holidays are around the corner and the clocks move back an hour. Start your weekend off right, on Friday, November 1st at the Salty Frog. Dia De Los Muertos edition, with the Gateway 95, Tennessee Tina & the Last Black Hour, Riston Diggs, Food Bodies and Rodrigo Bars starts at 8:00 pm. Also, on Friday, November 1st at the VFW Post 5477 The Can- Ams will be playing all your favorite rock hits, go down and sing along. Saturday, November 2nd at the Salty Frog Sideshow, Hyperactive Slackers and Tomorrow Can Wait, all goes down at 9:00 pm. 

Friday, November 8th Our featured band of the month Jamie-Lee Dimes brings her Hide in My Head Tour to the Salty Frog at 7:00 pm with Oak Palace, they released a three song Jam in the Van (live session) earlier this year. Get your dancing shoes on when these guys hit the stage, also along for the ride is Dani the Changeling. They released L.I.M.M. (Lost in My Mind) earlier this year as well. This line up is packed, it has it all, dance, melodic, soulful grooves all wrap up in one night. 

Friday, November 15th Allen Camp’s Annual Artist Relations Collective “ARC” Industry Mixer is set all weekend long. Being a stapled fixture at the Salty Frog, Allen Camp brings ARC to life. Bringing bands and musicians together under one roof for three days. With bands showcasing their music and having Q & A panel is a unique experience if you are interested in what goes on behind the scenes. The best part you get to meet all the bands playing, listen to new demos coming from the bands showcased. There will be bands merchandise along with CD’s for sale. The party begins at 6:00 pm ARC Showcase begins at 8:00 pm with Cory Wilkins, My Two Eyes, Reverb Nations top San Diego artist Oliver James and Fuzz – Huzzi Saturday November 16th back at the Salty Frog for the continuation of the ARC Industry Mixer at 3:00 pm. Industry professionals will be there for a Q & A session. until 6:00 pm. Showcase begins at 8:00 pm with Peter Carol, Take Off Deep, The Tale and SouthTowne Sham. Sunday, November 17th the final day of the ARC Industry Mixer has an all ARC members meeting beginning at 3:00 pm. They will have Demo listening panel with panel members Showcase begins at 6:45 pm with Loaner, One Hot Planet Unknown Fate, EndoStayesBaked and Wet sponsored by Mommy Called Studios, Ears Only Audio and of course the Salty Frog. There is no cover however Donations will be accepted at the door. Fantastic news coming out of ARC, punk rockers Avenue Army just signed with Cleopatra Records out of Los Angeles CA look out for those guys. 

November 20th Open Mic Night at Seaside Candy, sign-ups start at 5:30 pm. The show begins at 6:00 pm.  You get to play two songs or a ten- minute limit on performance. The last performance is at 7:50 pm. It’s a family fun atmosphere and you just never know who will pop in. 

Back at the Salty Frog Saturday, November 23rd Riot Scene is back presenting Dispositions, Fire & Flesh this banger starts at 9:00 pm Friday, November 25th Karaoke Night at Seaside Candy starts at 5:00 pm. You can also head over to the Scoreboard for adult karaoke on Friday and Saturday nights. 

News out of DAB Headquarters, Dogol and the Berry’s “DAB” will be taking a break from playing shows. They are concentrating on their third full-length LP. Jeff Forrest from Double Time Recording Studios is at the helm. There is no release date set but they will begin booking shows for next year.
