Kiwanis Kids Ocean Discovery Day has been rescheduled to Saturday, October 5th!

At Kiwanis Kids Ocean Discovery Day, Children Can Watch as Divers Bring Up Live Sea Life from the End of The IB Pier!

At this free event, Children will get to watch as IB Lifeguards Scuba Dive and bring up amazing live sea life from the end of our very own Imperial Beach Pier. The sea life will then be hoasted up to the top of the pier where it will be put in buckets of water, or water and sand, so the children can view the
sea life up close. In some cases, the children will be even able to touch the sea life that the divers find. Some of the expected or possible encrustations the children will encounter stone and spider crab, sea urchin, sand dollars, lobster, octopus, as well as fish that will be harpooned by the divers.

Note: Tin Fish will be serving a snack for the kids.

This free event is designed to introduce children to the different types of creatures that live in the ocean and to encourage environmental stewardship for future generations!

The event is being run by the Imperial Beach / South Bay Kiwanis and sponsored by the Port of San Diego, Tin Fish, Cow-A Bumga and Dig Imperial Beach.

Date: Saturday, September 28th

Time: 8 am to 10 am

Location: Go to IB Pier Plaza and then out to the end of the pier.
