NATIONAL NIGHT OUT: TUESDAY, AUGUST 6, 2019

IMPERIAL BEACH CELEBRATES WITH A RIBBON CUTTING

(IMPERIAL BEACH, CA – JULY 24, 2019) Imperial Beach neighborhoods are invited to join over 38 million neighbors across 16 thousand communities from all 50 states, U.S. territories and military bases worldwide. National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes strong police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live and work. Together, we are making that happen.

From time to time, neighbors throughout our city and across the nation are asked to lock their doors, turn on their front porch lights and spend the evening outside with neighbors and law enforcement. National Project Coordinator, Matt Peskin said, “This is a night for our nation to stand together and promote awareness, safety, and neighborhood unity. National Night Out showcases the vital importance of police-community partnerships and citizen involvement. When law enforcement and the community work closely together, some amazing things can happen.”

Imperial Beach is joining in on the celebration this year. Festivities will begin at 5 p.m. with a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new enhancements at Rose Teeple Memorial Park. Activities for all ages will follow the ceremony and last until 7 p.m. We encourage all IB residents to join us in this amazing national event.

Location: Corner of Florida Street and Calla Street

The City of Imperial Beach’s mission is to maintain and enhance Imperial Beach as “Classic Southern California;” a beach-oriented community with a safe, small town, family atmosphere, rich in natural and cultural resources.
