A "Topping Out" Ceremony for Hampton Inn & Suites at Breakwater Town Center was held on Friday. Grand Opening Anticipated Early Next Year!

On Friday, July 12th a festive taco lunch was held to celebrate the “Topping Out” of the Hampton Inn & Suites Hotel at Breakwater Town Center, the first hotel by Hilton in the City of Imperial Beach for city officials, media and other parties involved in the development of the project.

With framing complete, the 4-story hotel has reached a major milestone.
The development team wanted to take this opportunity to recognize, encourage and celebrate the skilled workers involved in moving this project closer to completion.

Said Colton Sudberry, president of Sudberry Properties. “Sudberry Properties has been honored to partner with the City of Imperial Beach on this unique “beach modern” design that reflects the welcoming vibe of the city. We’re also honored to be bringing the prestigious Hilton brand to Imperial Beach for the first time.  The development of Breakwater Town Center and the Hampton Inn & Suites has been an exciting and challenging 10-year process.  We’re most excited to be in the final stages of development. The grand opening next year will be a great celebration.” The hotel is scheduled to celebrate its grand opening in the first quarter of 2020.  (Weather permitting!)

A  site tour was held for those interested. It required people to wear close-toed shoes.  Hard hats and safety vests were provided for them.

The event was hosted by Watkins Landmark Construction, Sudberry Properties, Tharaldson Development & Hospitality teams, and the City of Imperial Beach.

A special "Thank you" to the following for their contributions to the article:
