9th Annual Discover Otay Valley Regional Park Day Saturday, May 18th


Featuring animal encounter booths, environment and safety stewardship booths nature crafts, photo contests and food. All ages are welcome at this free event! Please share with your neighbors, co-workers and networks!

o   Mountain Biking: 8 to 10 a.m., starting at San Diego County Otay Lakes Regional Park 2270 Wueste Rd., Chula Vista, CA.

o   This ride will be led by the San Diego Mountain Biking Association and is intended for mid-level mountain bike riders. Maximum of 40 people, must RSVP by calling 619-424-0463.

o   Horseback Riding: 9 to 11 a.m., starting at staging area 210 Mace St., Chula Vista, CA.

o   Bonita Valley Horsemen will lead this epic ride.

o   Birding: 8 to 9:30 a.m., starting at the Ranger Station located at 2155 Beyer Blvd., San Diego, CA.

o   Birding experts from the San Diego Audubon Society will introduce you to the wonder of birding in urban parks.

o   Nature Walk: 10 to 11:30 a.m., starting at 500 Saturn Blvd., San Diego, CA.

o   Canyoneers from the San Diego Natural History Museum will take you on a discovery walk to reveal secrets of plants and animals in the park.

o   Event Day Celebration: Join us for booths, crafts (10 a.m. to 1 p.m.) and food (noon to 1 p.m.) at 500 Saturn Blvd., San Diego, CA. Concepts for the proposed OVRP Bike Skills Park will be on display!

o   500 Saturn Blvd. is on the north side of Home Depot.
