New Imperial Beach Hotel Expected to Break Ground in Early 2019

The new Hampton Inn which will be going in at the Breakwater Plaza is expected to break ground in early 2019. The hotel will be located in the West end of Breakwater Plaza near 7th St on Palm Avenue.

Last December the Imperial Beach City Council Approved Resolutions that 

allowed for the Building of a 101 Room Hotel on 1.4 Acres at the West End of the Breakwater Town Center Located on the South Side of State Route 75/Palm Ave. Between 9th & 7th Streets by a vote of 5 - 0. 

Now Sudberry - Palm LLC will break ground in the next 2 to 3 months moving forward with the building of the 101-room hotel on 1.4 acres of the 4.75-acre lot at the Breakwater Commercial/Retail Center in Imperial Beach. 

They will own and operate the hotel with Tharaldson Hospitality Management LLC. (THM) as a Hampton Inn. The Hampton Inn is one of several quality hotels which is part of the Hilton Family of Hotels. Other names of hotels in the Hilton Family of Hotels include the Waldorf Astoria, Embassy Suites, Double Tree Inn, Homewood Suites and Hilton Garden Inn. All high quality, well-run accommodations in the hospitality industry.  

Sudberry Properties, the General Partner of Sudberry - Palm LLC is a San Diego based real estate development and asset management company that was established in 1979. It finished the first phase of the project in 2017. The first phase of the development on the east end of the property is anchored by a Grocery Outlet and the Hampton Inn would anchor the west end of the Breakwater Town Center.

THM, formed in January 2011, operates manages 38 hotels in 14 states with a portfolio of business class hotels under franchise license agreements with Intercontinental Hotels Group, Marriott International and Hilton. All top names in the hospitality industry as well. They have received numerous Developer of the Year awards from the same highly respected franchise companies.

Said Colton Sudberry of Sudberry Properties on working with THM as their partners., It's not often that you find a partner that matches up so perfectly with what you are trying to achieve. THM is in this project for the long term just like we are, and they have a record of successful management of some of the largest hotel franchises in the United States. We are very excited to be working with them.

One of Sudberry Property's recent developments, Civita, a mixed-use development, has received numerous awards including Civita Park being honored with “Orchid” by the San Diego Architectural Foundation on October 26th at the same ceremony where the Imperial Beach Library won its "Orchid" and Civita Recreation Center Named “Best Community Amenity” in Southern California at SoCal Awards.
