Local Artists will be Starting New Murals this Weekend at 7 Eleven near 13th Street and IB Sports Park, and Alley Walls Near Sports Park Gym.

The IB Arts Bureau and the City are moving south with the mural projects.

7 Eleven at the corner of 13th Street and Imperial Beach Blvd will be having a
Fanciful Underwater Scene and will be done by some well known San Diego artists, Armondo Nunez, and Michelle Ruby who goes by mrbbaby. It will be nice to have a mural on the alley wall said one store patron. They also commented on all the improvements made during the last year. It's great to see all the upgrades to 7 Eleven and have your community showing its pride. The blending of colors in the murals was done by Jorge Mendoza.

Longtime Imperial Beach resident and IB Arts Bureau member and graphic artist Allen Wiseley of Rough House Media will be doing a dugout wall with a baseball/softball theme at the IB Sports Park in a project sponsored by the Imperial Beach Little League.

The 3rd project will take place in the alley behind the IB Sports Park Gym. It will feature and children playing and wildlife. The 150 feet of alleyway wall will be done by local artists Brennan Hubbell and Mati Moon.

When I get more info from or about the artists, I will add links to their web-pages.
