South Bay Honors District Champions
Staff, Teams, Parents, and Community Members among Recipients
Imperial Beach, CA – On October 19, 2018, Superintendent Katie McNamara hosted an event at the Imperial Beach Public Library to honor South Bay’s District Champions. These awards recognize students, parents/guardians, staff, teams, and community members that demonstrate outstanding work, dedication to the District's mission and goals, commitment to our community, and strong support for the South Bay Union School District. We are proud to celebrate the contributions of the following Champions:
Arminda Nigh - Arminda, a sixth grade teacher at Mendoza, was recognized for her dedication to the school community.
Liliana Hernandez - Liliana is the Office Clerk at Imperial Beach Charter West. She was honored for her welcoming and supportive attitude.
Elmer Vigilia/Silver Gate Three Stars Masonic Lodge and Claude H. Morrison Masonic Lodge - These organizations were celebrated for their support of the Emory students and families.
Jeanette Lizarraga - A parent at Berry, was recognized for her support of our Transportation staff.
Sandra Ramirez, Guillermo Rodriguez, Eliseo Sisneros, Joseph Tipton, Ann Newman, Jolyn Llamas, Pam MacDonald, Susan Connors, Noma Bruso, Maria Urrea, Teresa Price and Fran Cavaco - This volunteer team from Mendoza was honored for their service and commitment to the school.
Dr. McNamara is excited about this program. “I am delighted to have the opportunity to honor those that demonstrate such a high level of support and dedication to our District. Congratulations to these recipients and we look forward to continuing to highlight and recognize those that champion our work, our community, and our District.” South Bay will continue to collect nominations for the 2018-2019 school year and will host additional recognition events on December 7, 2018, March 8, 2019, and May 31, 2019.
