Murals Going up in Imperial Beach and Rock the Walls Murals Bike Ride Saturday, August 11th

Rock the Walls Murals Bike Ride Saturday, August 11th to Celebrate Murals Going up in Imperial Beach this August.

After a very successful Rock the Walls mural paintings and bike ride, they are at it again.
The Scoreboard will be getting a mural as will State Farm on Palm Avenue in IB along with the alley wall at next to Chase Bank.

Imperial Beach City Councilman Mark West and Todd Stands and David Frink from the Imperial Beach Arts Bureau and other artists from Imperial Beach have been busy this spring and summer getting locations for murals to help with the Imperial Beach Beautification Project. These projects have
been funded in part by some of the businesses themselves or have gotten donations to do the murals to help beautify Imperial Beach.

One of the biggest contributors financially for all of this is thanks to our very own IB Beautiful which also runs the Imperial Beach Certified Farmers Market every Friday at the IB Pier Plaza from 2 to 7pm.

Brian Hebets who did the infamous 7/11 mural is back in town. Brian will be painting on the State Farm building at 12th and Palm Avenue. Its theme will reflect global warming and rising water levels with a "City Under Water" from what I hear from Todd Stands.

Todd Stands and some of the crew from the IB Art Bureau will start 2 others today. One on the IB Scoreboard Bar and the alley wall next to Chase Bank.

Local Imperial Beach artist Kristin Minchuk will be painting the mural at the Scoreboard with Baja Racer and Landscape and sports.

Another Imperial Beach artist, Michelle Ferrera, will be working the alley wall next to Chase Bank. According to Todd Stands along with other volunteers.

The Bike Ride will take place August 11th with riders meeting at the Scoreboard on Palm AAvenue at 3 pm. The Scoreboard is located at 951 Palm Avenue in Imperial Beach.
