  Kids N’ Kastles Superhereos in the Sand contest sponsored by the Optimist Club of Imperial Beach



The Kids N’ Kastles sandcastle building contest, sponsored by the Optimist Club of Imperial Beach, is back as part of the Sun and Sea Festival Superhereos in the Sand on Saturday, July 14, 2018. The Optimist club sponsors 20 team plots (five kids per team) for children 12 years and under. Teams are asked to register online at

On the day of the event, teams are ask to check-in starting at 10 a.m. at the Kids N Kastles booth located near the Dolphin Statue in the Kidz Zone area at Dune’s Park. Teams will receive their assigned building plots, Each team participant will receive a free gift bag.

The kids only sandcastle building competition will take place from Noon to 1:30 p.m. on the sand (beach) adjacent to Kidz Zone. Teams are encouraged to incorporate the Superhereos in the Sand theme into their creations. There are two categories: Best Sculpture/Sandcastle and Creature   of the Sea with a special award for team that best incorporates a Superhero. Prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd  place finishers. Additional raffle drawing prizes will be awarded. Kids N’ Kastles Event Snapshot

10am – 11:30am -- Team check-in at Dolphin Statue – plot assignment, gift bags and payment of donations

Noon – 1:30pm -- Sandcastle building Contest

2pm -- Teams and families report to Dunes Park Stage for awards ceremony
