Great VIP Beach 4th of July Parking Fundraiser for MVHS Boy & Girls Water Polo

Mar Vista High Boys and Girls Water Polo Teams to Raise Funds Selling Parking on Seacoast Drive During 4th of July

Both Mar Vista Boys and Girls Water Polo teams will be out fundraising at Wednesday's 4th of July festivities. They will be selling parking spaces at the lot owned and donated to them for the event by the Imperial Beach Resorts that is hoping to have a hotel put up there by 2020.

Imperial Beach Resorts has graciously let them use the space to park cars during big events at the beach. It has allowed the Mar Vista Water Polo teams to raise a substantial amount of money that has been desperately needed to keep a first-class program going. Last year along the teams had to spend $8,000 on time clocks that were needed so they could play their games as well as other items needed. Besides equipment needed it also gives them the money they need for traveling expenses to tournaments. Because of budget cuts to schools over the past many years that just seem to keep on happening, fundraising events like this are needed to keep all the sports going at the school and thanks to the great support of the community, they have been able to do that without any problems.

A big Thank you to the community for all the great help they do supporting the programs there and great work by both the parents and students for getting out and doing such hard work. They have said in the past that they are very grateful to the Imperial Beach Resorts for their help and have been at City of IB Meetings letting the members know from the IB Design and Review Board and the IB Tidelands Review Board that the Imperial Beach Resorts has been a big part of the reasons they have been able to keep their program going!
