Sierra Service Project does repair work on homes in the communities we serve. The type of work ranges from building or repairing wheelchair ramps, stairs, porches, awnings, and fences to yard work and painting.

Approximately 70 teenagers will rotate into Imperial Beach weekly to help fix up things around the home for residents. The teenagers come mostly from California but some as far away from states like Arizona and Utah will be in Imperial Beach this summer as part of Sierra Service Project.

The Boys & Girls Club in Imperial Beach is providing housing for the teenagers who will sleep on the floor of the gym each night. The teenagers are mostly from church groups but the is not a requirement for them to participate in the program. Some of the teenagers have never seen the ocean before.

They also will be hosting a weekly community dinner on Tuesdays at the Boys & Girls Club that the entire community is invited to. We will have more on that in the future and on our calendar of events.

Friday night they and the IB United Methodist Church hosted a dinner that was open to the public at the Boys & Girls Club that was attended by about 20 people.
