Large Turnout for IB “Rock The Walls” Mural Festival Bike Ride Saturday, April 21st

The ride organized by IB City Councilman Mark West with the help of the IB Arts Bureau and others took place Saturday, April 21st. The community bike ride went to each of the murals recently put up. The ride began at the first mural located at 197 Palm Ave (7-11) at 3:00 pm.  IB favorite Limebike agreed to provide escooters, ebikes and traditional bikes for those people interested.  The route took riders to the community wall (end of 7th Ave) and then to the former vape shop (1181 Palm Ave) and complete at the IB Public House (995 Palm Ave).

At each location, the muralists were available to explain the work and answer any questions citizens had. The route was monitored by our sheriffs to ensure safety is paramount.  The IB Public House hosted an after party with discounted drinks and appetizers for all participants where they had another opportunity to meet the muralists and celebrate the week. The Mayor will said a few words and announced a new Ocean Friendly Restaurant in IB. Mural Projects Across Imperial Beach Community are Top Projects for Imperial Beach Arts Bureau this Year. Bayshore Bikeway Mural Project to Continue Next Weekend!

Said Mark West, "We had about 75 to 100 riders. It's a true community empowerment making our City better.
