The night  was kicked of with the Mar Vista High School JR ROTC being the Color Guard and IB  Girl Scout Troop 6116 leading the Pledge of Allegiance. After that there was a very nice dinner of spaghetti and lasagna from Frantone's followed and preceded by some ceremonies. In the end, 33 members were sworn in as the new Imperial Beach Lions Club.

"It is officially on the map. We had our Charter Night on Wednesday night and it was an amazing time" Said Lions member Darnisha Hunter. Darnisha went on to say, "Thank you to our Imperial Beach family for coming out and supporting us all. Thank you to Ret. Major General Anthony Jackson for being my keynote speaker and his wife for coming down from Fallbrook. Pastor Jody Crawford from Latter Rain Ministries, Paul Spears, Boys Scouts of America, Cub Scouts of America, Girl Scouts of America and many many more that came out to support me.
