Two Electrical/Mechanical Failures at Pump Station CILA Have Caused an Estimated 1,500,000 Gallons of Tijuana River Water to be Bypassed to the United States

Mexico has informed the US Section that over the last 48 hours there have two electrical/mechanical failures at Pump Station CILA that have caused an estimated 1,500,000 gallons of Tijuana River Water to be bypassed to the United States. Water quality samples for bacteria were taking yesterday morning at the Tijuana River at Dairy Mart Bridge. Results from these tests will be forwarded once the analysis are completed.
