Annual Mar Vista Alumni Baseball Game Brings Stars of the Future Against Stars from the Past And Signals Spring is Just Around the Corner!Sunday February 11th was a perfect day for baseball as stars from Mar Vista's past baseball teams came out to help raise money for the baseball program and got to kids again and help kick off the year for the Mariners stars of the future. It's a day for any former or current baseball player or lover of baseball knows signals that spring is just around the corner. That the days are getting longer, the grass starts to become a little greener, flowers are getting ready to bloom and it's that special time of year again, Baseball Season!
Playing for the Alumni included former Mariner star players David Apodaca, Bobby Rector, Joey Capron, Ron Lee, Rick Rolf, Gabriel Preciado, Jake Myers, Pat Goggin; James Davis; Daniel “Papi” Garcia; Sergio Godinez; Coach Don Dumas; Charlie Padilla and Bill Howard.
Playing against the alumni for the Mar Vista High School Team of upcoming stars included: Jake Borst; Eddie King; Eli Burns; Jason Capron; Isaac Castellon; Alonso Garcia; Armando and Diego Garza; Isaac Guerrero; Zack Hastings; Victor Herrera; Sean Jones; Cesar Luna; Daniel Ortiz; Chris Pardinas; Austin Lukenbil; Zack Rall; Damon Thomas and Eddie Nieto.
Said long time Mariner Head Baseball Coach Allen De Los Reyes, "We greatly appreciate all the support of our former players and our loyal fans for coming out and supporting the Mar Vista High Baseball program.
