New Office for IB Chamber of Commerce to be Opened on Palm Avenue

Jan 24, 2018 11:50AM ● By Paul Spear
The Imperial Beach Chamber of Commerce will have a new home at 1221 Palm Avenue come the first of February if things go according to plan said Chamber of Commerce President Valerie Acevez when I chatted with her Sunday.

Valarie Acevez, President of the Chamber and others have been working hard on getting the office ready for the opening. Hours of operation have yet to be determined as the office will be manned by volunteers.

The Chamber will be located on the site of a former tattoo polar. Valerie said the tattoo sign on the building will be replaced by a sign for the Chamber of Commerce.

Besides Valerie and former Chamber President Karen Odermatt working on getting the office ready both of their husbands, Daniel Acevez and Tony Odermatt have been busy painting the inside of the office and doing any type of physical labor to get the office ready to open. Kim Paris of IB Beautiful is hoping to help with a mural if approved by landlord on the wall. Renditions in process. IB Printing is helping to get the signage in place. Dante Dante Pamintuan of Pacific Realty has been helping with the moving as we transition to the new office. We look forward to helping our members stay up to date and on top of changes that affect them as the City of IB grows. Will have more info as we complete the project.

In other Imperial Beach Chamber of Commerce News, the Taste of IB will be on April 28th this year. No other details have been finalized but the date is solid per Valerie.

In related news, IB Beautiful who is hoping to put a mural up on the side of the Chambers new office expect to do a new mural every quarter at different locations around town during it's beatification projects according to Kim Paris of IB Beautiful.
