San Diego City Council to Vote on Conditional Use Permit for Palm Avenue Super 8 Motel & SMART Program Use Monday December 11th

Dec 06, 2017 03:40PM ● By Paul Spear

Opposition to Super 8 Motel for SMART Program Asked to Attend SD City Council Meeting Monday December 11th

Recently the Otay Mesa-Nestor Community Planning (OMNCP) Group voted 12 to 2 not to approve the Palm Avenue Super 8 Motel SMART Program use.  Nevertheless, San Diego City Attorney Mara Elliott has continued to push her Program in total disregard for the interests of the South Bay Community according to Rodel Reyes of the OMNCP.

Per Rodel, The San Diego Misdemeanors At-Risk Track (SMART) program will be seeking approval for a Conditional Use Permit (CUP) on MondayDecember 11, at 1 PM.  It is imperative that we show all council members that we do care that this program is not allowed to operate at the Palm Avenue Super 8 Motel by having a large attendance of residents in opposition to this CUP.  You do not need to speak, but to support those residents who do speak including CM Alvarez.  I would recommend speaking for 1 minute or less.

Rodel asks that you please put this date (Monday, December 11, at 1 PM) on your calendar to attend and bring other residents with you, if you would.   If you are not able to attend, please ask others to attend and get confirmations from them.

Parking validation will be provided at the Evan V. Jones Parkade 1265 1st Avenue, San Diego, CA 92101but let me know that you will be attending I need to know to make sure that validation tickets will be available for you.  Directions: (1) I - 5 north (2) exit 6th Street & Lf on 6th Street (3) Rt on Broadway (4) Rt on 1st Avenue (5) Evan V.
