A Big "Thank you" to All Our Readers, Contributors and Advertisers Past and Present!

You Are All Part of What Makes Imperial Beach So Great!

I wanted to take a minute out of my day to "Thank" all of you who read our publication, those that contribute to Dig Imperial Beach and advertisers, past and present!

During the last couple of weeks we have had some exciting moments here that made me excited and feel like we are on the right track with trying to promote the positing things happening here in Imperial Beach and staying away from stories about crime and drugs. It certainly would bring us a bigger following but tis not the type of events we are interested in promoting. It is import that all of you know how grateful I am for the help you have given Dig Imperial Beach with what we have become and what we have achieved! I feel these events are just as much a tribute to you as they are to Dig Imperial Beach and that you don't have to talk about drugs and crime to draw an audience You are the ones who have helped get us to where we are today!

Last Tuesday, Dig Imperial Beach was honored by the Imperial Beach Women's Club (IBWC) at their November Luncheon along with the Imperial Beach Library, The Boys & Girls Club of Southern California, Serving Seniors from St Charles Church, VIP Preschool, 2 Imperial Beach Girls Scout Troops and the Imperial Beach Junior Lifeguards. What an honor it was to be included with such outstanding service organizations!

As a lot of you are aware, The Imperial Beach Women's Club is the longest serving organization in Imperial Beach and arguably the best service organization in the City of Imperial Beach. This fantastic organization of women was formed in 1933 as the Palm Beach Women's Club. After the City of Imperial Beach became incorporated in 1956 they later renamed the organization the Imperial Beach Women's Club during the 1970's and today are one of the most active service group in the City of Imperial Beach. What an honor it was to be honored by such a hard-working group of women doing so much to make imperial Beach a better place for all of us!

Tonight, Dig Imperial Beach reach a milestone for which all of you should feel honored for helping us get there. Tonight, we reach the 1,000-subscriber level to Dig Imperial Beach's Newsletter. Less than 15 months ago and before I was actively doing the Newsletter and before Shawna Chalmers came out with the fantastic idea of doing an Imperial Beach Community Calendar of Events in September of 2016, we had less than 300 subscribers to our Newsletter in August of 2016.Growing over 300% in a 15-month time frame.

So, citizens of Imperial Beach, take a bow! You are the ones that do the good things I can report on. You have proven to the world that nice guys can finish first and that doing good can be just as interesting and that when it comes to caring about others, Imperial Beach is number 1 in my book!
