Oct 29, 2017 01:10AM ● By Paul Spear
A Week after Losing their Starting Quarterback for the Season and One of their Best Receivers to a Concussion, the Mariners lost a Starting Running Back, their Best Linebacker and And Another Quarterback in the 14th Quarter in their 13 - 3 Loss to Chula Vista.

Said Head Football Coach tyler Arciaga on their 14 - 3 loss to the Chula Vista Spartans played at Mar Vista High School Friday Night, " They played hard, but injury bug hit us again... before half, lost another running back and our best linebacker". The Coach went on to say when talking about already losing one quarterback for the year, "Our Quarterback (who replaced Jacob Beck last week) was knocked out of the game in the fourth quarter too."

Mar Vista scored first in the game with a field goal and had a 3 - 0 lead at halftime. But the Spartans finally scored a touchdown in the 3rd quarter to take a 7 to 3 lead and tacked on another in the 4th quarter to pull ahead 14 - 3 and with all the injuries to the offense couldn't score again and Chula Vista won the game 14 - 3.

The Mar Vista Mariners are now 5 -4 on the year and 0 - 2 in league. Mar Vista will look to rebound and get back on the winning ways as the play Hilltop High School Friday night November 3rd at Mar Vista High School. The game starts at 7pm.
