Lady Mariners Varsity Volleyball Team Suffers First Loss in League to Chula Vista High in Hard Fought Game

The Mar Vista Girls Volleyball Team Suffered Their First Loss in the League Play to the Chula Vista Spartans to Drop to 5-1 in League and 10-5 1 Overall in a Hard-Fought Game at MVHS Wednesday!

The loss snapped the Mariners 6 game winning streak but they didn't go down easily. Depsited losing 3 sets to 1, the Lady Mariners held the lead late in the first to sets before losing by just 2 points in the first 2 sets. The Mariners game back strong in the third set winning 25 to 15 and looked like they were ready to pull off a comeback but the Spartans proved to be just to much winning the 4th Set 25 to19 to snap the Mariners 6 game winning streak and hand them their first loss in the South Bay League on the season.

If you want to see some great volleyball, the lady Mariners return to action on Monday October 9th when they play a non-conference game against High Tech SD at 4:30pm at Mar Vista. 

In thwir previous game, The Mar Vista High School Girls Volleyball Defeated Sweetwater 3 Games to 1 at Sweetwater High. 

Kills were lead by Emily Leslie with 12 kills and Ana James with 11. Assists leaders were Alexandra Hazuga and Lauren Wold. Lisette Guevara had 20 digs followed by Shaylin Weygandt with 17.
