The Friends of the Library Held A Book Sale on Saturday at the Imperial Beach Library to Raise Funds for Specials Programs and Events for the Benefit of the Library and its Patrons!
They had all types of books from best sellers, hardcover, paperback, cookbooks, children’s
books, reference, romances, history. Just about any type of book you could of. Most books at the sale ranged from 25 cents to 50 cents. However, if you bought a bag inside the store you could fill it with all the books at the sale for just $5. The bags were donated to the Friends of the Library (FOL) by Chipotle, Grocery Outlet and Debs Cookie Jar.
Friends of the Library operate a used book store just outside of the main door and sell used books, videos and other items. The proceeds from today's book sale and their other operations are used primarily to fund special events and other activities for the benefit of the Imperial Beach Library which is owned and operated by the County of San Diego and serves Imperial Beach and the surrounding communities. The Friends of the Library were very active in the opening of the new library which opened in April. They stored books which couldn't fit in the temporary library at the Boys & Girls Club and helped in other ways as well. They are led by current President Virginia Syverson.
FOL on hand helping out today when I stopped by were: Melanie Ellsworth, Sally Lymas, Steve Mock, Henry Vaca Escandon, Sandy McAnallen and Dick Lynas.
They are located at the Imperial Beach Library at 810 Imperial Beach Bl., Imperial Beach, CA 91932
