Imperial Beach Library Hosted its 7th Annual Public Safety Chili Cook-off Last Night, Wednesday!

The Imperial Beach Library hosted its 7th Annual Public Safety Chili Cook-off last night.  Four teams consisting of the Imperial Beach’s Fire, Sheriff, Lifeguard, and City Council competed against each other for the best chili. Councilmember Robert Patton took 1st place followed by Lifeguard Chief Robert Stabenow in 2nd, Fire Dept. Capt. Paul Favor in 3rd, and County Sheriff Sgt. Laura Spang in 4th.  A presentation by Capt. Jason Bell was given on fire safety.  As always, a fun time was had by all…despite the attempts to “borrow” other competitor’s condiments from their table. A big thank you to our participants and the Friends of the Imperial Beach Library for sponsoring this popular program each year.
