South Bay Urgent Care Provides Imperial Beach Community with Much Needed Services

Jun 22, 2017 03:40PM ● By Paul Spear

For Matt Dickson and Kim Dickson, their May 31st Grand Opening of South Bay Urgent Care is a Dream Come True. The Imperial Beach couple always wanted to open a business in a small beach community where they lived. They wanted to raise their son Brad and daughter Annie along with dog Rusty and can serve and give back to the community where they are raising their family. Luckily for us Imperial Beach was the community they chose.

Dr. Kim, Dickson, a San Diego native, has a background in family medicine and her husband Matt Dickson is an emergency Room Doctor. They put in 2 years of time and a lot of hard work and love into building a 7,500-sq. ft. urgent care that has a state of the art laboratory and x-ray imaging machine to provide patients with fast and accurate results. Before now, many of services and care they provide patients would have had to go to the Emergency Room to get. They boast nurse’s stations, a procedure room, 8 large exam room rooms to go along with the lab and x-ray imaging.

Their commitment to the community should be commended, besides hiring their staff with

workers from the community, the walls of the clinic are filled with beautiful art pieces by local artists. The back wall of the clinic has a beautiful mural taking up the whole back wall with a mural of the Imperial Beach Pier by local artist, William Edwin Willis that is stunning. A photo of their dog Rusty in a lab coat as the lab tech provides some humor to help relax patients stressed by serious situations. You'll also find beautiful woodwork for their counters and shelves which has a calming effect to go with its beauty.

South Bay Urgent Care can treat those who need medical attention quickly, but don’t require an emergency room visit or if you can't wait the time it takes to get into your normal physician. No appointment is necessary and they take most insurance. South Bay Urgent Care Center is open 7 days a week.
