Save Our Combat Terps: No One Left Behind Outreach Event clock Sunday, August 6th at The Veterans Museum at Balboa Park 2115 Park Blvd, San Diego, California 92101 2pm to 5pm

Join us Sunday, August 6, 2017 as No One Left Behind - San Diego, CA Chapter hosts an outreach and fundraising event at The Veterans Museum at Balboa Park. The mission of the event is to build local awareness and raise funds to benefit recently arrived combat interpreters who worked for U.S. forces in Iraq and Afghanistan. This is a FREE event and although donations are graciously accepted they are not required to attend.

No One Left Behind believes that we should honor our promise to the many interpreters who served valiantly alongside our troops in Afghanistan and Iraq. They are often targets in their home countries and we are committed to helping them resettle and build new lives here in America. We assist interpreters in navigating the SIV process in their home country, then once they arrive in the United States, our goal is to ensure they have the basics - housing, food, transportation - so they can focus on settling in to their new communities and finding employment in order to become self-sufficient members of our communities.

Keynote Speakers

Author Amanda Matti - A former U.S. Navy Intelligence Analyst and Iraq War veteran, Amanda will discuss the important role of local interpreters in both U.S. military tactical and intelligence operations abroad.

Matthew Makowski - President of the No One Left Behind - San Diego, CA Chapter, Matt will discuss how No One Left behind is working to keep America's promise to assist these heroic men and women who have sacrificed so much in the defense of our nation.

NOLB Interpreter - A former interpreter who served with the U.S. military in Afghanistan and recently resettled in the San Diego area will discuss his first-hand experience as a combat linguist and the dangers local trasnlators face as a result of working for American forces. Due to security reasons, he has requested his identity remain anonymous.

YOU CAN HELP US MAKE A DIFFERENCE NOW!

No One Left Behind is on the ground in airports across the country, welcoming newly arriving interpreters to their new home and connecting them with essential services – housing, food, transportation, and legal counsel.
