Imperial Beach Wellness Expo (Let's Connect Expo)

Imperial Beach Wellness Expo (Let's Connect Expo) Was Held Saturday April 29th At The Sports Park.  The Event was well attended and had many groups sharing health and wellness information.

The Boys and Girls Club of South County and  the Live Well San Diego vision, the County of San Diego Health and Human Services Agency (HHSA) South Region held the  Imperial Beach “Let’s Connect Expo” April 29th from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. The free event had giveaways including Tow brand new Bicycles, kid-friendly activities, fun entertainment and commentary by Mark West Imperial Beach City Councilman and Aaron Ruiz of the Boys and Girls Club.

The purpose of “Let’s Connect Expo” is to support families and connect them with useful resources and enrichment opportunities in their community that align with Live Well San Diego's vision: To see communities be Healthy, Safe and Thriving. 

The event offered residents health screenings, and health information, residents tools to develop a family disaster plan, create an emergency kit and stay informed in case of an emergency and provided resources for families to thrive such as job searching techniques, resume review, interview tips, affordable enrichment activities and budgeting techniques. There was also be a Kids Zone with fun activities.

The event was well attended and all gained an awareness of health and wellness programs and information that is available to them and their family.
