Dig Imperial Beach

IB Egg Extravaganza

Apr 16, 2017 02:45PM ● By Shawna Chalmers
The annual Imperial Beach egg hunt was hosted by the Boys and Girls Club of Imperial Beach this year, thanks to generous donors and volunteers. Mayor Dedina started the festivities with an "awesome" IB kickoff, followed by a mad scramble by children of all ages. All kids received a free raffle ticket for two bicycles and helmets. Families were also able to snap a memorable photo with the Easter Bunny, also a volunteer. Free holiday related books were given out to children, provided by the San Diego Book Project, a San Diego non-profit whose mission is to promote literacy. If you would like to be involved in the next Imperial Beach Egg Gunt, please contact Aaron Ruiz of the Boys and Girls Club. We hope you enjoy a few of the photos from Saturday.

Boys and Girls Club of South County
The Boys & Girls Clubs of South County is a youth development agency whose primary mission is to improve the quality of life of young people as participating members in our community. Our programs are based on member and community involvement. Caring for a group of children requires planning, knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices, supervision, and flexibility.

San Diego Book Project

The San Diego Book Project provides books to people who need them but may not have sufficient resources to buy them. They believe owning books provides ready access to reading and is a critical step toward reading proficiency and are staffed by volunteers, pay no salaries, and exist as a result of private donations. Please see their website and consider financially supporting this amazing 501c3 non-profit:
