MVHS Lady Mariners Softball Teams Wins Again, Beats Chula Vista 12 - 6

Mar Vista High School Lady Mariners Softball Defeated Chula Vista 12 - 6 on Wednesday in a Game not as Close as the Scores to Improve to 4 - 0 in League Play and 12 - 3 on Season.

The MVHS Girls Varsity Softball Team is now 4-0 in league play and improved to 12 - 3 on the season after defeating Chula Vista 1 - 6 on Wednesday.

Chula Vista got off to a quick start by scoring 2 runs in the first inning to take a 2 - 0 lead of the Lady Mariners. Mar Vista came back in the 3rd inning scoring 3 runs to pull ahead 3-2. It was 3-2 until the the 5th inning when Freshman Erika Sanchez hit an over the fence 3 run homerun with a to put the Lady Mariners  at a score of 6-2.

The Lady Mariners maintained a held Chula vista Scoreless for the next 2 innings and Emily Leslie widened the lead to 8 - 2 with a two run over the fence homerun. The Mariner's bats were hot and they capitalize by scoring an additional 4 runs in the top of the 7th to take a 10 run lead and go ahead by a score of 12-2.

Chula Vista wasn't done yet as they scored 4 runs in the bottom of the 7th but the Mariners didn't give up and Chula Vista attempt to come back fell short  and the Lady Mariners got the final outs and the win by a score of 12-6.

The Winning Pitcher for Mar Vista was Sophomore Jazmyne Gomez with an era 2.0 for the game. She lead her team to the victory with a strike out in the bottom of the 7th to end the game.
