Bird and Estuary Photographer Bryan Brillhart Photographs Sewage Scum and Damage to Tijuana Estuary for Dig Imperial Beach Exclusively.

Bryan Brillhart has been photographing bird life in the Tijuana Estuary for 4 years now. He has photographed close to 100 types of birds during these past 4 years. Recently Bryan has noticed that there is scummy residue on some of the water surface, a stench, and and some sewage scum on the banks of streams deposited as the tides rise and fall.

Said Bryan, "it stinks along the river banks especially at the end of the River Loop Trail, I have seen several dead birds. Plant life is green, but there is scum and residue on the river water surface. There are dead birds, and a dead sea lion on the beach near the river mouth on the beach near least tern nesting areas."

Bryan went on to say, "This year I have seen much fewer bird species and fewer birds generally." He attributes this to the sewage spill.

Bryan is sharing photos taken today of these occurrences with the hope it will bring attention to the travesty taking place here in Imperial beach as Mexico continues to daily send sewage into the Tijuana River Valley, flowing through the Tijuana Estuary and eventually into Imperial Beach and up and down the California shoreline.
