Sign-up Now for the Mar Vista Girls Softball 1st Annual Home Run Derby, Saturday April 15th! Open to All Ages, Boys & Girls, $10 Entry Fee. Refreshments Available for Purchase.

MVH Softball Program hosting Home Run Derby this Saturday April 15,2017.
Anyone can come out an participate. $10.00 entry fee. All proceeds goes to the Mar Vista High Softball Program.

Home Run Derby will play out as a timed event and will
be organized into a single-elimination bracket, lasting three rounds. Entry fee for participants is $10. Helmets are required, pitching machine will be set at 40mph and staged at 43 feet. Only approved high school softball bats are eligible to hit with (loaner bats will be available). Prior to the start of the contest, batting cage time will be provided as an option. Order of batters will be a random draw at start time. Prizes and trophies will be awarded.

Instead of a set number of "outs" per round, each player will have a set amount of time to hit as many home runs as possible (time will be established by number of participants with a minimum of 3 minutes). A running clock will begin counting down upon release of the first pitch, though it will stop for any home run hit during the final minute. The clock will stop immediately after those home run balls land and will not begin again until a non-home run ball lands or the batter swings and misses. There will be targets set out beyond the fences and hitters will also be awarded bonus time for hitting targets.

First round is not bracketed. Contestants will progress into the bracket round based on total amount of home runs. Not all participants will move on.

Note: Below is what I recieved before I was sent the updated information above!
