         "Celebrating Coronado History" Gala Saturday March 18th

The Celebrating Coronado History Gala is the Coronado Historical Associations biggest fundraiser of the year and is how the many important programs of CHA are funded. Please join us for a celebration of Coronado's history and feel the excitement of supporting Coronado's heritage. The theme this year is Cottages to Castles…and the stories people tell.

The evening will begin with a hosted champagne reception and silent auction followed by a gourmet dinner ushered in with the music of Coronado resident Marilyn Rees. KPBS host Elsa Sevilla -- from the series San Diego Historic Places, will emcee the evening. Jim Shirey will lead the live action and Coronado's own Gerry MacCartee and Nancy Cobb will present 
" Cottages, Castles and Condominiums", A look back a Coronado Homes.

The Celebrating Coronado History Gala will be held March 18, 2017 at the Coronado Island Marriott and Spa. The Gala is Coronado Historical Associations biggest fundraiser of the year. It is how the many important programs that benefit Coronado are funded. Programs like the Coronado Museum, the archives and historical collections, the 3rd grade history program, the youth education programs in the museum. The Coronado Historical Association invites the community to celebrate Coronado's history, and share in the excitement and effort of maintaining Coronado's heritage. The theme this year is Cottages to Castles…and the stories people tell.

The evening will begin with a hosted champagne reception and silent auction followed by a gourmet dinner ushered in with the music of Coronado resident Marilyn Rees. The emcee for the evening will be KPBS host Elsa Sevilla. Jim Shirey will lead the live auction and raise the paddle. Coronado's own Gerry MacCartee and Nancy Cobb will delight once again with their presentation  " Cottages, Castles and Condominiums", a look back a Coronado Homes. 

Honorary cochairs of the event are Bob and Gail Bardin and Drs. Dennis and Holly Nappen. Debbie Bell from CHA’s Board of Directors in chairing the event. The event committee includes Lynda Willkie (CoChair), Lori Boulanger, Jami-teagle-Burgos, Patt Flynn, Bobbi O’Connor, Donna Ball and Britt Zeller.  The Hotel del Coronado is this year’s Crown Sponsor and the event is presented with the generous support of Don and Leslie Budinger.

Family membership start at only $60 per year. Non-members can sign up now and benefit from considerable discounts at CHA events, like the Historic Home Tour and Wine & Lectures, and meaningful programs throughout the year.
