I am requesting the attached flyers be distributed to our fellow members of the Imperial Beach Community Collaborative. The Regional Task Force on the Homeless will be having their annual Homeless Count the morning of Friday, January 27th from 4am to 8am. We are in charge of the coordination of the South Region which consists of the following Cities/areas: Coronado, Imperial Beach, Bonita, Chula Vista, South San Diego 92154, San Ysidro, National City, Otay and Sweetwater areas. Mayor Dedina participated in the 2016 We All Homeless Count in January 2016. We anticipate that he will be participating again. I would like to extend the invitation to the entire Imperial Beach Community Collaborative. In the past, Imperial Beach has been uncounted as reported by community members. I would like the homeless count be as accurate as possible – regardless whether that is more or less than previous years. With this said, I am asking for members of the IB Community Collaborative and other IB community members who are familiar with our homeless population in the Imperial Beach and South San Diego (Egger Highlands) areas.
Could you please place me on the agenda to talk about the We All Count at the next IB Community Collaborative Meeting this month.
Any interested volunteers will need to sign up for the event. They can do either the count or the surveying – or both. Some enjoy volunteering for both. We can set a couple hours of training for the count and surveying. The surveys are in English and Spanish. So if you have volunteers who are bilingual, it would be a plus! We don’t usually complete a lot of surveys in Spanish, but we’ve done them before.
Here is the link for volunteers willing to participate in the event: http://rtfh.volunteerhub.com/events/index
I’ve attached the Volunteer Walkthrough-guide to sign up. Here is what your volunteers will be seeing when they in the RTFH website for the South Bay:
I will also need volunteers to survey the homeless at 8am, as well. There is a separate sign up for the surveying in the website. Please let me know if you have any questions. I don’t mind a having a follow up meeting if needed.
I’m looking forward to a successful count at the end of this month! J Happy New Year, Antonio! If anyone has any questions, please feel free to contact me.
