A Man Violating a Restraining Order Led Imperial Beach Sheriffs on a High Speed Chase Through Imperial Beach that Ends with Crash on 5 Freeway. Sheriffs Report that No One Hurt During Chase Saturday.

The started around 4:25pm Saturday and resulted in a high speed chase through Imperial Beach down IB Blvd and Coronado Avenue. When passing us on Coronado Avenue there were three Sheriffs vehicles following the truck with a forth vehicle trying to catch up down Coronado Avenue.

The pursuit continued as the truck entered onto the 5 freeway at Coronado Avenue and proceeded Northbound.

As the Vehicle turned onto the 5, the Imperial Beach pursuers were joined by San Diego CHP vehicles and a Motorcycle Officer then the vehicle, still in flight, entered the Chula Vista City limits and added 3 more Police cars, an Ambulance and a Chula Vista Fire Truck to the melee until he crashed between the Main Street on and off Ramps.

It was truly amazing how rapidly all of our Safety Officers responded to this chase and remarkably how no one was injured in this dangerous pursuit!  Our hats are off to all the Officers who were involved and the smooth handling of the situation.

Thank you so much for your skill and rapid resolution to this issue.

The Sheriff's Department reported that no one was hurt in the chase but the man from the truck was taken away from the scene by ambulance.
