Tom Schaaf is the best candidate for the South Bay Union School District Board.

I first met Tom in the fall of 1973.  He was enthusiastic and passionate about teaching at Mar Vista High School.  His commitment to learning extended way beyond the classroom.  He was adamant about bringing computers and video equipment to the campus and began the school transitioning into the computer age.  He also took the Tennis Team quite a bit further, volunteering to coach Tennis.

His love of community flowed over to serving as President of the Imperial Beach Kiwanis Club, as Principal of the Adult School, as a Member of the Board of Directors of the Boys and Girls Club of Imperial Beach, Member of the Board of Directors Chamber of Commerce of Imperial Beach and appointed to the Design Review Board for the City of imperial Beach for 16 years.   These are just a few of the leadership positions he has held.

Clearly, his background in education, his service in our community and his proven leadership skills make him the ideal person we can turn to for our school district.  In the public forum, it is apparent that his thoughtful approach to his candidacy, his unending dedication to our education system and his genuine love of his community make him the best person for the South Bay Union School District Board.
