Habitat for Humanity and Encore Capital Group Repair Homes for San Diego Families

Major donation and volunteer effort works to revitalize the Imperial Beach Community

WHAT:   San Diego Habitat for Humanity is pleased to announce its continued partnership with Encore Capital Group.  A donation of $42,000 and the hard work of 60 employee volunteers will help repair homes and build better life stories for local hardworking families in need of improved housing.

This effort is part of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility Program, which focuses on economic empowerment and strives to help improve communities through better education, job training and basic support services.  The event also marks the fourth annual Global Volunteer Day where 350 employees in San Diego, CA, Phoenix, AZ, Troy, MI, Roanoke, VA, St. Cloud, MN, Tampa, FL, Houston, TX, as well as sites in Costa Rica, India and Puerto Rico will volunteer personal time to give back to their communities.

In addition to its new construction programs, Habitat for Humanity provides Neighborhood Revitalization (NR) services, a program that allows many more families to be served. NR efforts focus on the improvement of entire communities around new Habitat construction sites, and supporting families who already own their homes.

On Saturday, September 17, Encore Capital volunteers will be making repairs to two homes in Imperial Beach through Habitat’s NR program; they will be making energy efficient repairs to a roof, building fences and gates, painting, repairing a dilapidated shed, and installing low-maintenance, drought-tolerant landscaping.
