Enjoy the Good Life at Calypso Cafe is the Motto of this "Hidden Gem" in the Coronado Cays and you sure feel that way while you are visiting and enjoying a meal at the Cafe!

I was afforded a marvelously enjoyable dining experience in an intimate and skillfully

decorated space, which invited you in and made you welcome. There is a deck for outside dining which is directly on the boat harbor and is a restful and pleasant spot to dine unlike any other.  It is possible to take a gondola ride after your meal if desired for a truly romantic adventure.

The menu is an invitation to mouthwatering selections of items and tastefully crafted wines and beers put together by

owner Hanan Martha who takes an active role in the cafe. The way she spends time with you makes you feel like you are important and Hanan as well as all the staff make you feel like you are part of their family!

The staff is open and friendly and provides excellent service. I chose the special of the day, The Lasagna Dinner. The meal started with a delightful salad of greens, assorted vegetables and a perfectly roasted baby artichoke and a delicate yet slightly tangy house dressing. The main course the lasagna was served next.  I was truly impressed by the perfectly prepared layers of pasta, cheeses and meat with a very elegant and delightfully light,

but full-bodied sauce. For dessert I opted for the chocolate cake which was a significant slice of the most decadent delight for the tongue and soul. It only took one bite to send me into a heavenly taste sensation.  The layers of rich dark chocolate, the smooth ganache and the silky chocolate icing and drizzle of chocolate sauce and shaved chocolate was the perfectly  sensual end to the meal.

I highly recommend this very special place tucked away in the Cays for a perfect dining place for any occasion and time and visit often.
