A Huge crowd shows up for Deb's Cookie Jar's Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting Event last Saturday at 10th St & Palm Avenue. Deb's had a big following from her days at the Imperial Beach Farmers Market and friends in the community.Dignitaries from the City of Imperial Beach and the IB Chamber of Commerce were on hand for the Ribbon Cutting Event that took place last Saturday. IB Mayor Serge Dedina was there as was City Council Member Lorie Bragg. After the Ribbon was cut Deb was presented a nice plaque from the Chamber of Commerce. Some of the Members from the Chamber on hand included:JoAnn Barrows, Karen Odermatt, Jack Van Zant, Marcia Bachman, Candy Unger, and Erika Lowrey.
Deb Berry, owner of Deb's Cookie jar was a big favorite at Imperial Beach's Farmers Market for 2014 and had picked up a large following of customers. For the larger customers she often had to cook from her licensed home bakery to fill her orders so the natural progression was to a storefront. Now her and all of our dreams have come true as Deb;s Cookie Jar Is open for business on the North East corner of 10th Street and Palm Avenue.
Very soon we will be enjoying Deb's wonderful cookies again as well as her tasty cakes, pies and brownies. Since she plans on opening at 5am she will be offering up breakfast and coffee for those who have to be in early for work.
Now the waIt is over Now we can enjoy her fabulous baked goods again as well as the other new items she has added to her menu. It's great to be savoring Deb's magic again. This was the day I and all of Deb's followers were anxiously awaiting.
Congratulations Deb, We'll see you very often now!
