Tijuana River Mouth Open, Flowing Well!  The Mayor regularly updates Citizens on Twitter of situations occurring in City of Imperial Beach.

With concern rising over the floodwaters rising because of the closure of the Tijuana River Mouth, the US Fish and Wildlife Service with the help of the City of Imperial Beach got the Tijuana river Mouth open and flowing again. I first learned that work was being done by Imperial Beach Mayor Serge Dedina. I then spoke with Brian Collins of the FWS who told me that they had just gotten the river mouth open and it was flowing very well. Brian has promised photographs later in the day.

I happened to speak with the mayor after I saw one of his regular Tweets that he does to keep the community informed of what is happening. I posted some of the mayors tweets below as he has some great posts and it's a great way to quickly see what is going on in the city. Of course, Dig Imperial Beach will be here to cover all of your IB News and Events but I thought these posts below by the mayor were excellant.

With south swell this week it only took a week for an eroded part of #ImperialBeach to build back up!!!

We all forget that beach erosion is a natural process. What is not natural are the structures we place on the beach.

Sand has now filled in the entrance to the Tijuana Estuary.

Another epic Epic Easter Egg hunt in #ImperialBeach.

New street art on Seacoast Drive.
