The South Bay Historical Society Board of Directors has Voted to allow the formation of an Imperial Beach Chapter once IB Completes the Application Process.

This will allow Imperial Beach to control what happens with it's historical photos, memorabilia and other historical items it has collected over the years while receiving the benefits of being a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation and give it tax exempt status.

This makes its it very likely, with a lot of hard work,  that Imperial Beach could one day have its very own historical museum!

Genevieve Ord and family at the beach in 1927, in front of what appears to be the "Castle" at the end of Elkwood Drive. Young Patricia is standing next to Harold Ord who is holding baby Joyce. The Castle is still standing today two houses down from the Lifeguard station, but the roofline is slightly different.
