Boys & Girls Club Sponsoring Inaugural 2016 Imperial Beach Wellness Expo on Saturday April 23rd at the IB Sports Park from Noon to 4pm.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of South County, is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to providing a safe and harmonious environment for community members of all ages and backgrounds. The idea is for local citizens to enjoy a plethora of opportunities to be involved with our central community center, and provide them with a variety of activities that capture different interests.

Boys & Girls Clubs of South County plans to collaborate with the City of Imperial Beach, Live Well San Diego and San Diego Small Business Forum to promote a new event to the citizens of not only Imperial Beach, but South Bay. “The Inaugural IB Wellness Expo: 2016.” The date is scheduled for Saturday, April 23 2016 from 12pm-4pm. Proceeds generated from “The Inaugural IB Wellness Expo: 2016” are a source of funds used to finance our programs throughout the year.

Wellness can be defined in many categories, and for this event, Boys & Girls Clubs of South County has established 7 of them: Emotional, Environmental, Intellectual, Occupational, Physical, Social and Spiritual. On the day of event, the plan is to have a surplus of information booths, categorized within their correlative group, which will provide opportunities to elaborate the health-conscience craze of today’s society from an interactive approach. We also have a variety of on-stage demonstrations planned in 3 different areas within the complex. The list of activities continues with competitions, health screenings, sample giveaways, raffles, kid’s zone and more to be announced. Thus far, there have been strong discussions with the likes of Apple, Athletes for Education (to aid in bringing in the some special guests- the San Diego Chargers) and special performances set to be revealed throughout the promotion process!
