In the coming weeks, Sports Park Recreation Center plans on introducing Tae Kwon Do! Two different classes for different age ranges and different times:
  • 4-6 Years of Age @ 4:00p-4:50p
  • 7 Years of Age @5:00p-5:50p
Classes are schedule to begin Monday March 14th, and will meet two times a week on Mondays and Wednesdays. The plan is to have classes run on 8 week sessions.
The cost to enroll is $70 for members, $75 for non-members, and $80 for non-residents. There is also a $30 fee for uniforms and a $30 fee for testing for certification and belts at the end of the 8 week course (with intent to continue 8 week courses down the line and consistently move up in rank).
Master Jorge Torres is the instructor and has taught Tae Kwon Do to all ages and has taken kids to compete at the national level. Master Torres is a 4th Rank Black Belt and has been doing Tae Kwon Do for over 20 years(since 1994) with the International Tae Kwon Do academy. He is also a national referee with more than 60 Tae Kwon Do tournaments under his belt.

Remember, Boys & Girls Clubs of South County at the Sports Park Recreation Center has the opportunity to scholarship individuals who cannot afford to pay but still want to participate. We have the financial aid necessary to not only scholarship students but adults as well (Must fill out forms here at Sports Park). For Recreation Classes, Sports Park has a No Child/Adult Turned Away Policy, so call or stop in for further details!
