SUPERVISOR COX TO SHOWCASE 2-1-1 SAN DIEGO TO                NATIONAL, STATE LEADERS ON 211 DAY

SAN DIEGO – County Supervisor Greg Cox will showcase the success of 2-1-1 San Diego to a group of national and state leaders meeting in San Diego.

The event will be a preview of 2-1-1’s new headquarters in Kearny Mesa, a high-tech Connections Center that will enhance the organization’s ability to not only link San Diegans to services they need, but bring together service providers, partners, key stakeholders, decision makers and philanthropists to better serve the community.

“2-1-1 San Diego has become the go-to contact for San Diegans who need to get connected to services,” said Supervisor Cox. “They are about to take a giant leap forward with the opening of their Connections Center and we hope to replicate their success on a state and national level.”

2-1-1 will be showcased to approximately 40 public leaders, community members and businesses people attending a California Association of Counties (CSAC) leadership forum that is being held in San Diego this week. The forum brings together leaders from CSAC, the National Association of Counties and corporate executives.

“This is a great opportunity to raise awareness about 2-1-1 but also see if we can help other counties or jurisdictions create similar programs that can help their residents,” said John Ohanian, 2-1-1 San Diego President and Chief Executive Officer.

The event will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, February 11, at the 2-1-1 Connections Center located at 3860 Calle Fortunada in San Diego.
