Mario Salazar from Central Elementary is Imperial Beach South Bay Kiwanis November 2015 “Student of the Month”.

The Imperial Beach South Bay Kiwanis welcomed and Congratulated their Student of the 
 Month Mario Salazar, from Central Elementary. Mario’s teacher said: he is a wonderful student, always on time, follows directions, completes classwork and homework daily, looks to see which of his classmates he can help be more successful every day. Mario is a critical thinker, computer tutor, and friend to all. He is a cross-age reading buddy, and self-starter. He comes to class 
 prepared, ready to learn, and listens attentively. He is honest, has integrity.

About the Imperial Beach South CountyKiwanian “Student of the Month Award”:

 

 The Student of the Month is nominated by his or her teacher. The winner is chosen in recognition of his/her academic excellence, great effort, and willingness to work hard.  As Student of the Month, they attend the next Kiwanis meeting with their family, teacher and school principal were they receive an award certificate, have their picture taken with their family, teacher, principal and a member of the Kiwanis. They also receive $25 to go into a savings 

 account for college. They donated around 40 books to the SBUSD Elementary to go in their Library for students to read or classes, signed in recognition of those speaking at their Meetings, and Students of the Month.
