IB Chamber of Commerce, BID & Local Service Organizations will be Joining the City of IB/Port of SD to go all out for Military Appreciation Day November 8th and throughout Month

Mike Osborne, President of the Imperial Beach Chamber of Commerce issued a 

 Statement to Members that the Chamber, BID (Business Improvement District) and Local Service Organizations will be joining with the City of IB & Port of SD in going all out on Military Appreciation Day on Sunday November 8th and all through November to Honor our Veterans and Active Military with Special Events, Store Discounts and 2 Free Beers at Beer Garden.

In his statement, Michael Osborne stated “In the month of November, the City of Imperial Beach will be honoring all veterans who are serving and have served our great Nation.  Specifically on November 8th, there will be a Military Appreciation Day held at Pier Plaza from 12:30 to 3:30 pm.  Along with our local service organizations, the Business Improvement District and the Imperial Beach Chamber of Commerce will assist the City in this endeavor.  Hutchins Realty will be hosting a beer garden under the umbrella of the Imperial Beach Chamber of Commerce.  All those with active, retired or Veteran ID's shall be eligible to receive 2 free drinks among other things.  The Imperial Beach Chamber of Commerce will also be hosting a booth where we will be distributing information on those businesses that offer Military Discount and any special Military Offers over and beyond their normal discount during the month of November. “

Michael went on to say “We plan to hand out to those Military attending a list of local businesses that will be giving discounts during November and giving those businesses a flyer they can post listing their special discount.  Additionally, we will post those businesses on our website.”

I have also talked to several Local Service Clubs that plan and taking an active roll for Military Appreciation Day. The Boys and Girls Club has talked about having an obsticle course for the children. But we will have more more coverage forthcoming with more details on events and specials that there will be going on for Military Appreciation Day.
