John Harvard Academy's Owner, Francisco Olivas, was Guest Speaker at the Imperial Beach South Bay Kiwanis Meeting and spoke about the New Learning Center at Boys & Girls Club of South County and why Imperial Beach on September 1st.

John Harvard Academy Imperial Beach (IB) Owner, Francisco Olivas, was Guest Speaker at Imperial Beach South Bay Kiwanis Meeting. On September 1st, Francisco provided information about the new Learning Center at The Boys & Girls Clubs of South County (BGCSC).

Like many guest of Imperial Beach, Francisco felt a similar feel to home, while living in the

coastal city. Eventually, responsibilities called upon him to leave Imperial Beach. However, he felt a sense of nostalgia and returned again.

Francisco has become very committed in helping children build their academic foundation in Imperial Beach.  He applied to join the Imperial Beach South Bay Kiwanis Club, an organization whose purpose is to serve children and the community, both locally and globally.

With that in mind, Francisco was offered an opportunity to partner with The BGCSC in IB. John Harvard Academy is an After School Learning Center and is located inside the Imperial Beach Boys & Girls Clubhouse, and offers tutoring, supplemental Math and English. John Harvard Academy also offers to help high school students prepare for college with an ACT preparatory and college application program.

Francisco’s unparalleled work ethic is instilled in him through a family legacy of hard work and traditional values. Francisco was born in Covina, California. After attending the University of California Riverside, he embarked on a journey with the United States Navy.

As a young military professional, Francisco brings a remarkable level of maturity, experience,

and achievement to John Harvard Academy. Francisco’s distinguished leadership and multi-disciplined background has been honed and refined over the course of eight years as a Senior Manager, Curriculum Designer, and Instructor. He aspires to pass his experience and knowledge to the next generation at JHA, and mentor and guide the youth in order to help them reach their full potential. This is one of the main reasons that he is interested in becoming a member of the Imperial Beach South Bay Kiwanis.

Francisco is committed to helping the children in South County San Diego understand that education can be applied to every aspect in life, not just as a source for financial aspiration. His team is committed to helping The Boys & Girls Clubs of South County create a safe learning environment, foster a creative thinking atmosphere, and prepare and mentor children to reach their full potential. He hopes to partner with local businesses in order to provide financial assistance to the children in IB. The Boys & Girls Clubs of South County has a fundraising event scheduled to start October 1st, at Big Kahuna’s to help provide assistance to children and we will be covering all announcements!
