Although plans are still in the process of being formulated and Veteran's Day is actually November 11th this year. the City of Imperial Beach, The Imperial Beach Chamber of Commerce and others are formalizing plans for a big celebration to honor Veterans and Veteran's Day and Veteran's Day weekend November 7th and 8th.

Sans any Rain, the Dempsey Holder Ocean Festival and Surf Contest will kick things off on November 7th. The City is Planning on doing something on the 8th to Honor our Veterans and the Imperial Beach Chamber of Commerce has at least a Beer Garden planned and rumor has it they will be give all active service members who show ID, 2 FREE BEERS!

Now we know why when the Dempsey Holder Ocean Festival and Surf Contest had to be postponed because of a recent rain storm that left the beach unsafe to swim in that it was moved to November 7th.

I've been told that the City and Chamber are planing to talk to businesses and local non-profit organization and want to do something really big for Veterans Day November 8th.

That's all I have right now but as we get more information, you know we will have it for you. In the meantime. Get out and have a Great Times at the BBQ Blues Festival Saturday and know there is more fun on the way!
